Session 38

Heroes: Ayrin, Azrael, Haurchefant, Ulfgeir

 

On the other side of the portal, the Heroes find themselves in a natural cave. Black armors imbued with a magical blue light animate upon their arrival, and attack them with swords made of moonlight. The Heroes destroy the guardians, and explore the cave.

 

When they reach the exit, the realize they're on Selune, Toril's moon. They travel for a few days on the barren landscape, fending off the attacks of dangerous lunar devils.

 

They eventually arrive at a grand city built from blue stone. The inhabitants of the city are elves and humans, but they have no sympathy for the Heroes. When they approach the gates of the impressive city, they're rapidly subdued and thrown in a dark cell.

 

From a fellow inmate, they learn that the Lleirans, as the people of the moon call themselves, are xenophobic to the extreme, especially hating visitors from Toril, tagging everyone they don't know as a spy. But there's a bit of good news: the same inmate, a halfling gladiator that has spent a few years in this city, knows of Satine. He praises her beauty and kindness, and tells the Heroes of how he helped her escape the city. Last he knows of her, she left on a transport to the planet Anadia.

 

A few days pass, when finally high magistrate Phlandra Alabaster comes to visit the Heroes. From the demeanour, it is clear she's not there to free them. "Tell me, filthy spies" she whispers "tell me all that you know".
