The interrogation session is quite frustrating for both sides, and eventually the high magistrate leaves the Heroes to rot in their cells. A few days after they're ushered into one of the many arenas of the city for the entertainment of the gathered crowds.
To the disappointment of the locals, they face and defeat the monstrous slaadi sent against them. When they're returned to their cells, they assault their captors and manage to escape, also freeing a few more prisoners. Among them are Halkin the halfling gladiator, and Ipatix, a gnome tinkerer with a complete lack of empathy.
They find refuge in the house of a senile old lady, and eventually sneak their way out of the city. They reach the cave with the portal that transported them to the moon in the first place, and get back to Toril. There they recover the Phoenix Regret, and leave once again, this time bound to Anadia, where they hope to find out more about Satine's fate.
