Heroes: Ayrin, Azrael, Gondriel, Haurchefant
The Heroes move the Rampage's artillery to the Gloria, and recover whatever loot is in the holds. Then they scuttle the Rampage, and deliver its former crew to the asteroid where the Barre Sinister was located. Surely a pirate crew will pass by and save them from starvation. Maybe.
The Gloria returns to Bral, where the Heroes collect the bounty for their last privateers' job. When they speak with their contact at the Pragmatic Order of Thought, Jasson demands that they return their letter of marque, following prince Andru's instructions. It looks like the prince is starting to feel the pressure of the Heroes' fame in Bral, and he's not going to make life easy for them.
The Heroes enjoy a period of downtime while the Gloria is under repairs. While they relax, Tiktitik visits them. The thri-kreen tells them of how he found his people in wildspace, and how the kreen have not forgotten their true calling: to bring the teachings of the Eternal Lotus to all known spheres. The Heroes quickly realize that Tiktitik is the herald of a kreen fleet, set on subjugating Bral.
When the thri-kreen leaves, the Heroes use their influence to contact the prince, but it looks like Andru has no intention of collaborating with them. When they turn to the Elven Imperial Navy, they find more eager allies. Still, a confrontation with the kreen seems inevitable, and admiral Marianon fears that the prince may anger them during the negotiations.
Since the Heroes know Tiktitik, and have saved his life in the past, the admiral suggests that the Gloria approaches the kreen fleet before the official meeting with the prince, to gauge the thri-kreen intentions and strength.
